E36 Elproblem - Centrallås
« skrivet: januari 27, 2014, 19:13:18 »
Tydligen lever kabelstammen ett hårt liv på en E36 och det kan ge diverse elproblem.

Så har du problem med centrallåset kanske detta kan vara orsaken.

E36 Central Locking problem - no fuses blown, trunk harness fixed

Symptoms: None of your interior power locks work. Your door's keyholes do not activate power lock system. Your fuses are fine. Your remote keyless entry system still works and all of your doors respond to it.

Probable Solution: Credits to this guy http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...882&highlight= and NomadE30 for helping me out.

The problem happens in older E36s with rust along the bottom, allowing water to get under the carpets. It causes 7 Red/Green wires inside a black plastic connector to rot out completely, leaving no electrical connection. To gain access to this plug, you'll need to pull up the carpet under the seats until you expose a hard white plastic coverish thing located underneath the carpet, just in front of the drivers seat.

At this point, I assume you are kneeling by the driver door opening, facing into the car. The white coverish thing will be towards the front of the car (your left) and the black plastic connector will be just right of the white cover thing, and towards you. The black plastic connector joins 7 Red/Green wires together and is attached to the chassis via a plastic, nutless bolt.

If you think that the wires are fine, give them a tug. You may be surprised to see that all 7 of the wires might fall out. My black connector was flooded with green copper oxide. I stripped all the wires down an inch, twisted them together, put a plug on them and then sealed the deal with tons of hockey tape and electrical tape.

Fixed my locks!

So,

If your car is experiencing the following (As i was):

sudden loss of power door locks without warning.
all doors will not lock centrally.
You get odd voltages when you put your meter in the F7 circuit
measuring green red to ground gets you .5 or 1 volt,

This could very well be your problem:
There is a 7 wire connector located under the drivers side carpet (Under the drivers seat). the drivers side tends to get tons of water in it and this connector rusts out. mine was green with corrosion. pull out your seat and remove the necessary trim and lift out your carpet enough so you can see the white cover thing with holes in it and secured to the floor with a nutless bolt. look around for a flat black piece of plastic hanging off of a nutless bolt. snip the wires off and solder them together or pickup a connector.

This Seems to be a a common problem, but is a really easy fix. It was so satisfying to finally hear my power locks whirring away again!

unfortunately though, i seen these two connectors going to a speaker and plugged them in, thinking that i had unpluged them when i removed the trim under the steering wheel.

Now i get the annoying door ding, and a airbag light is on. will unplug them asap. Its driving me nuts...

Hope this helps people! I searched all over this board and counldnt find answers...

Iab
